Active birth workshop was real treasure of information that we actually used in real situation in the hospital, all the movements, positions, breathings, shower, kneeling, walking on the stairs...It was so useful and I would encourage everyone to do workshop 100%!The best investment! I reached out to Gill 2 weeks ago when the consultant talked about a c section and coming in early and she gave me lots of tips and tools to help. Between her amazing prenatal yoga classes each week, swimming, reflexology, spinning babies and the yoga positions you suggested I do each day, it has all helped. Now, just to keep it up for hopefully the last few short weeks to keep baby in good position. Thanks so much for everything. Gill helped make the journey to meeting our baby so special not only for me but for my husband and we will be eternally grateful for her support and guidance as a not only a teacher but we were blessed to have her as our doula. Pregnancy yoga I attended Gills weekly pregnancy yoga class in Studio3 since I was 20 weeks pregnant and it really helped me prepare physically and emotionally for the birth of my son - I also loved that Gill creates such a special space at her studio where you not only feel calm and safe but can connect to other mums to be - its so much more than just a weekly class, it has a nurturing and supportive community. What struck me the most was Gill knows all details about the women in the class, where they are in pregnancy, challenges they face, and she is genuinely involved in helping every single person feel welcomed and belonging to this amazing supporting group. Every question someone has, Gill has an answer, and if she doesn’t have an answer, she can recommend someone who can help- osteopaths, massage, homeopaths, physiotherapists, accupuncture, reflexology, you name it. Birth workshops I attended both Gill’s Hypnobirthing and Active birth couples labour preparation workshop. Myself and my husband were both nervous and didn’t know what to expect as this was our 1st baby and I am so happy we did these workshops with Gill - It gave both of us confidence to navigate the pregnancy, the hospital system, and meant we knew what to expect in all scenarios and more importantly what questions to ask so we both felt empowered and confident in decisions we had to make & really feel it made a big difference to the pregnancy and birth. Doula support The support Gill have is a doula will always be the most important part of our birth journey and I feel blessed to have Gills support and back up and wish every pregnant woman had a Gill by her side. Gill came to our home for 1:1 visits in the third trimester and went through everything to prepare both me and my husband in pregnancy with some daily essentials which meant we could work as a team to prepare for the birth of our son - she also helped us use the tools we had learned in class workshops so we both knew when and how to use them. This gave us so much confidence and Gill answered all our questions and concerns in the weeks leading up to the birth which meant we felt prepared for a gentle birth and also if we needed medical help which in the end we did need and she was with us every step of the way. Gill also helped me navigate the 1st few weeks with our beautiful son which was much more overwhelming than we expected. Gill was once again there to support and guide us and gave us tips and advise as well as the number for an amazing lactation consultant and meant I was able to rest and recover and bond with my baby. Gill shares loads of info and tips with you so that you can keep doing regular movements at home too.
